Truman Teel officiating, under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Alva Sanders Butler was born October 7, 1902 at Custer City to John Matt and Charity Ellen Crow Butler and died Feb. 2, 2000 at the age of 97. He was married to Mildred Barker in 1924. He then married Marie Gainer Musgrave in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 1986. He farmed on his parents and grandparents home place near Reydon from 1940 until 1980 when he moved to Elk City. He entered the Methodist Retirement Home in 1995 where he has lived since. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. Alva Butler was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one son, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his son, Ken Butler of Shawnee; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. --------------------------------------------------------------------
