He died August 13, 1987 at the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at 65 years of age. He was the son of Louis and Laura Buttry and grew up at Hammon. He later served his country for three years during WW II. He worked for the Harris Amusement Theaters in Texas for three years. He and Louise Dreyer were married on March 31, 1956 at Rockport, Tex. Buttrey worked for the Soil Conservation Service out of Clinton for 11 years, retiring in 1970. The couple made their home in Hammon. Preceding him in death were his father and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home; one daughter, Florence Ragan of Hammon; two sons, Randy Allen Buttry of the home and Billy Royce Buttry of Chickasha; his mother, Laura Buttry of Clinton; one sister, Ceclia Jackson of Hammon; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Aug. 15, 1987 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hammon, with Rose Chapel in charge and Bart Montgomery and Milton Gage officating. Graveside services were conducted by the Honor Guard of the Altus AFB at the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, OK --------------------------------------------------------------------
