In 1994 he moved to Texas and was converted in 1885. In 1909 he was sanctified and called into the ministry. In 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Nichols. To this union two children were born: Allie and Lillian. His wife preceded him in death in 1901. In 1906 he was united in marriage to Miss Amanda Elizabeth Holly. To this union six children were born, Lucille, Clotie, Ruth, Earl, Agnes and Christine. Christine died in infancy. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1933. In 1934 he was united in marriage to Blanche Billups. He is survived by his widow, six daughters: Allie Brock and Lillian Appell, both of Fort Worth, Texas; Lucille Myers, Goodland, Texas; Clottile purcell, Hutchinson, Kansas; Ruth Bradney, Braham, Oklahoma; Agnes Erta, Woodward, Oklahoma; and one son, Earl of Grand Canyon, Arizona; five step-children; three daughters, Goldie Williams, Malvern, Arkansas; Verdi Bush, Tonkawa, Oklahoma; Marie Etherington, Edingburg, Texas; and two boys, Ernest Billups, Colcord, Oklahoma; and Samuel Billups of Houston, Texas; sic grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father, and was faithful and true to his calling. He was the best pastor a church ever had, loved by everyone both in the church and out. He is gone but not forgotten.
