Bayless, father of Mrs. Fred Baxter, Cheyenne, died from asphyxiation Monday. Bayless, a truck driver for Sparkman Livestock Company, was found dead in a tightly closed room with a gas stove burning in Sherman, Texas. Bayless was a resident of the Durham Community. Born July 1, 1901 in Johnson County, Missouri. Mr. Bayless was enroute to Tupelo, Mississippi, for a load of cattle and checked in at a tourisdt court in Sherman at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Death was pronounced as asphyxiation. A cornorer fixed death at 11 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Bayless was married to Ruby Hughes in Hansfrod, Texas July 21, 1919. He had resided in Roger Mills County near Durham for 17 years, prior to moving to Elk City some 17 years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby of Elk City; two sons, Cecil Bayless, Glendale, Arizona, and Roy Bayless, Phoenix, Arizona; four daughters, Mrs. Geneva (Fred) Baxter, Cheyenne, Mrs. Glenna (Frank) Easterly, Phoneix, Arizona, Mrs. Dorothy (Jim) Beals, Strong City, and Mrs. Joan (Norman) Martin, Elk City. Also surviving are his father, W.D. Bayless, Colcord, Oklahoma, a sister, Mrs. devona McClellan, Gruver, Texas and a brother, D.V. Bayless, Gruver, Texas, and 15 grandchildren.
