Morris Blaylock was born on February 15, 1923 in Hammon, Oklahoma to Charles Jasper and Dollie Blaylock. He grew up and attended school in Hammon, graduating from Hammon High School. Morris later graduating from OSU with a degree in Range Management. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Morris married Elizabeth Blaunn on December 27, 1969 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1980. They moved back to Weatherford and began managing the family farm. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Morris was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Society for Range Management. He was also a member of the Weatherford Masonic Lodge and the Guthrie Shrine. Morris passed away on January 15, 2004 at the Corn Heritage Village at the age of 80. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Blaylock of the home, daughters, Jody Marie Blaylock of Tempe, Arizona andf Myra Louise Blaylock and husband Chris Dombrowski of Tucson, Arizona, and numberous relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mabry Blaylock. Memorial services will be held Sunday, 2:00 p.m. at the 9-Mile Farm (Blaylock Farm). The farm is located on highway 33 six miles west of Hammon. Arrangementds under the direction of Kiesau Marler Funeral Home, Clinton, Oklahoma.
