Bellamy, 72, a recognized Mark Twin scholar and former chairman of the language arts division at Southwestern State College here. The accident occured Thursday during a sightseeing visit of a college tour group to the pyramids at San Juan Teihuacan near Mexico City. Dr. Bellamy died the following day at a hosptal in Mexico City. A native of Bay City, Texas, Dr. Bellamy grew up in Cheyenne and recived her B.A., M.A., and PH.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma at Norman. Before joining the staff at Southwestern Statre, she taught English literature at a public school in Cheyenne and at North Texas State College and The University of Oklahoma. The remowned author and book reviewer was best known for her scholarly dissertations, articles, and books on Mark Twain. Prior to embarking on her teaching and writing career, Dr. Bellamy was elected Roger Mills County Treasurer in 1925 and also served in various other county offices. Services for Dr. Bellamy are pending. Interment will be in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Lockstone Funeral Home in charge. --------------------------------------------------------------------
