The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Benjamin Floyd Billings, son of Benjamin Harrison Frfanklin Billings and Edith Estle Bailey was born on October 12, 1914 near Leedey, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Thursday morning September 25, 1997 at the Seiling Municipal Hospital. Mr. Billings had reached the age of 82 years at the time of his death. Floyd attended the Canadian School, near his home, through the eighth grade. On December 19, 1934 he was united in marriage to Martha Fern Coram at Woodward, Oklahoma. To this happy union two children were born, Aline Lavonia and Billy Gene. After their marriage Floyd and Fern lived in several different locations around the country, near Harmon, Oklahoma, in California, Montrose, Colorado, Vici and Elk City, Oklahoma, and retiring at Camargo. Floyd worked as a farmer, mechanic and as a musician. He enjoyed making violins and repairing them as well as other instruments. For fifty-nine years Floyd has enjoyed playing music for his family and friends. He has received numerous awards with his violin in County music contests. Floyd belonged to the Odd Fellows lodge and was a member of the Baptist Church where he was baptised as a young child. Mr. Billings was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Billy Gene, and one sister Floy Agatha Coram. He is survived by his beloved wife, Fern of the home, his daughter, Aliene Cole of Vici, one sister, Erma McLaren of Woodward, four special grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, two nieces, three nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. Services were at First Chirstrian Church, Camargo, Oklahoma on Monday, Sept 29, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. with Bennie Walter, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Vici, Oklahoma officiated.
