The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Services for Nicholas "Nick" Blanken, 907 West First, Elk City, Oklahoma, was held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, July 12, 1971 in the Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Elk City, Oklahoma. Mr. Blankin died early Friday morning. He was 55 having been born on April 12, 1910 in Sneedsville, Tennessee. He moved to the Hammon area in 1928 and was married Novembver 25, 1933 to Mary Lucille Fish at Cheyenne. They moved to Elk City in 1963. He was ill for about three years prior to his death. Survivors include his wife and a son, Jimmy Ray of the home; his stepmother, Mrs. Nola Blanken, Churchill, Tennessee; three sisters, Mrs. Della Phillips, Greenwood, South Carolina; Mrs. Martha Wills, Chickasha, Oklahoma and Mrs. Esper Drinkon, Wingsford, Tennessee; five brothers, George Blaken, Jr. of Borger, Texas; and Hug Blanken, Sunbright, Tennessee. Final rites was held by Rev. Joe E. Madwell, Anadarko. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Anadarko, Caddo County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
