He was born September 13, 1937 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to John Franklin and Vera Shotwell Blanton. He was married to Jeannean Burns in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, on June 8, 1958. He was a mber of the Del City Church of Christ, the Mid-Del Bass Club, and also worked for Rhone-Poulenc-Rorer Pharmaceutical, Inc. for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Franklin, Jr.; and mother-in-law, Viola Burns. He is survived by his wife Jeannean, of the home; one son, Brent Blanton of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Tamra Blanton of St. Louis, Missouri and Tara Elliott of Midwest City; one brother Ed Blanton and wife Anita of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister-in-law, Lora Blanton of Elk City, Oklahoma; father-in-law, Charles Burns of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Larry Burns of Sacramento, California; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Services were held ayt 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at Del City Church of Christ with burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
