The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Blanton, Shotwell Vera Virginia Blanton, 72 of Silver City, New Mexico was born May 15, 1913 in Grimes, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Eli L. and Ida Mae Shotwell, Sr. and passed from this life Monday, May 27, 1985 at her home following an extended illness. On November 12, 1932 Vera Shotwell and John Franklin Blanton were united in marriage in Cheyenne, Oklahoma where they made their home for a number of years. When they moved from Cheyenne they lived in several places before Mrs. Blanton moved to Silver City, New Mexico to make her home about 8 years ago. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1969 and her parents. Survivors include 3 sons: Frank Blanton and wife Lora of Silver City, New Mexico; Ed Blanton and wife Anitaa of Alberquerque, New Mexico; and Don Blanton and wife Jeannean of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two sister, Edith Jackson of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Florence Rupp of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Eli L. Shotwell, Jr. of Cheyenne, Ok and nine grandchildren: Karen, Allen, Diane, Steve; Bruce, David; Brent, Tamra and Tara; one great grandson, Jonathan Joseph. Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 31, 1985 at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church of Cheyenne with Willard Cox officiating. Interment followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Active pallbearers were Collier Tracy, Babe Frankford, Lee Roark, Connie Fults, Deryl Coker and Charles Burns. Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Akridge, Eldridge Calver, Harry Dearing and Rober Cogburn. --------------------------------------------------------------------
