He attended Crawford Schools, beginning at "Little Crawford" and graduating from Crawford High School in 1938. In December 1941 he married Audrey Mettit and to this union was born two children, Judy Lyde of Oklahoma City, OK and Ronnie Blurton of Austin, Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Opal Hensley and is survived by one brother John Blurton of Perryton, Texas, Ruby Klein of Monroe City, Missouri, Arlee Githens of Perryton, Texas, and Gean Barnett of Phoenix, Arizona. Daughter Judy and son Ronnie and wife Dianna, granson Greg Lyde of Wichita, Kansas, granddaughter Molly McDonald and husband Bobby Ray McDonald of Oklahoma City, OK, grandson Randy Blurton of Snow Mass, Colorado and Fiance Karie Russey of Stillwater, OK, and great grandson Grant Lyde of Wichita, Kansas. He worked most of his life in LP gas business, having spent twenty- four years with Sales Equimment Company of Oklahoma City.
