Memorial services were held Friday, February 26, 1982 at 2 p.m. in the Rose chapel with Ray Smart officiating. Burial was in Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose chapel of Sayre. Grace was born June 1, 1893 in Nebraska. At the age of 9, she came to Sentinel with her parents. Frank and Janey Cheney. She was married to George Bannister, June 28, 1911. To this union six son's and one daughter were born. In the fall of 1916, they moved to Sand Stone and Cheyenne community in a covered wagon where they made their home until 1932. They then moved to Sayre and had been a resident there since that time. She is survived by one son, Lloyd Bannister and wife, Frankie of Kermit, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Bob Brewer of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Helen Bannister, Crawley, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, five sons: Richard, Melvin, Allen, Bill, and Clyde; her parent's Frank and Janey Cheney; one grandchild; three brothers Willie, Edd, and Charlie; one sister, Macie.
