He was 59. Bonds was born December 11, 1929 in Elk City to Cecil and Violet Bonds. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Sayre First Baptist Church with Ray Smart and Ron Threadgill officiating. Burial will be in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, OK, under the direction of Rose Chapel of Sayre. He lived in Cheyenne feor most of his life. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. After being discharged from the U.S. Army, he worked in the construction industry in Missouri before returning to Cheyenne to work in the oilfields of Western Oklahoma. He had lived in Sayre since 1983 and was employed sy Simons Oil Co. at the time of his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife JoNell of the home, two daughters: Connie Sue Nation of San Diego, Calif. and Deborah Ann Redden of Watonga, Okla., two step-daughters: Danita Shewmaker of Sayre and Shannon Rouse of Spicewood, Tex; one son, Mike Bonds of Amarillo, Tex. and six grandchildren.
