He spent his childhood in Navarre County, Texas, and grew to manhood at Rush Spring, Indian Territory. In 1898 he came to Roger Mills County with his father and homesteaded near Reydon. Plagued by lifelong ill health, he led an active life until he had a heart attack in 1954, and was compelled to slow down. Only his iron will kept him from being bedfast until the last week of his life, when he was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage which paralyzed his throat. He died January 19, 1959 at 6 a.m. in the Cheyenne Municipal hospital. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, an upright citizen and a good neighbor. He is survived by his wife, Helen, their daughter, Rosanne, his son, Trammell and his half sisters and brothers, Kate Corvin, Lewis Wheeler, Sam Bowman and Philip Bowman. Burial Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
