He was converted at an early age and joined the Brethren church. Most of his early childhood was spent in the Indian Territory. In 1901 he was married to Mrs. Nancy Catherine Troxel. In 1909 they moved to Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 1937. In 1938 he was married to Mrs. rosa McKean. He leaves to mourn his passing, his widow, four sisters, Mrs. Anna Kendall of Heber, Arizona, Mrs. Martha Etheridge of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Joe Everett of Norman, Oklahoma, Mrs. Susie Boatwright of Oklahoma City, one brother, Henry Bowman of Grady, New Mexico, 8 step-children Mrs. Abbie Bauman of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Mrs. Johnnie Woodring of Springdale, Arkansas, Mrs. Effie Wall of Iowa Park, Texas, Mrs. Ellen Worley of Miami, Oklahoma, Mrs. Jesse Burns of pampa, Texas, Ralp McKean of Durham, Oklahoma, Wayne McKean of Crawford, Maine and Dale McKean of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, also a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in Cheyenne, July 4, 1949. Committal was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
