The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Obit for Lula Mae Bray Lula Mae Bray was born June 22, 1905 northwest of Leeddey, Oklahoma. She died at the age of 94 years on January 26, 2000 while a resident at the Leedey Nursing Center. Her parents were John Boon and Gertie Troutman Patton. She attended local country schools and Leedey Schools. On January 23, 1924 Lula and Clifford Bray were united in marriage in the Canadian community. To this union three children were born. A few days prior to Clifford's death in 1974, they observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary. They lived in the Canadian community until 1938, when they moved to Leedey where they continued to engage in farming. Lula was an industrious worker who devoted herself to activities involving her family. She participated in the farming activities and was an avid gardener, growing and preserving fruit and vegetables as long as her health permitted. She ennoyed sewing and needlework. Lula was a member of the Canadian Home Demostration Club. She valued learing and tried to keep up with developments pertaining to her interests. She maintained a steadfast dedication to helpin her family in numerous ways and was interested in what each one was doing. She accepted Christ as her saviour in her youth and was a member of the First Baptist Church f or the past several years. Lula is survived by her son, Mel, and daughter-in-law, Jackie Bray of Edmond, Oklahoma, her son, Doyle and daughter-in-law, Oleta Bray; her daughter, Jeanne, and son-in-law, Joe Craig, of Leedey; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. Her brothers George, Jesse, Otis, J.C. and Boon, Junior; as well as her sister, Fannie; and a niece, Jewell, who was brought up as a daughter by the Patton's precdeceased her. She is survived by a brother, Robert of Skiatook, Oklahoma; a sister, Lorena Kincaid and brother-in-law, Roylee Kincaid, Clinton, Oklahoma and a sister-in-law, Elsie Patton, of Leedey, several nieces and nephews, and other beloved relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Shaw Funeral Home Monday, January 31, 2000 at First Baptist Church, Leedey, Oklahoma.
