Berry Samuel T. Berry was born to James A. and Alia Jane Berry on March 16, 1873 at Johnson City, Tennessee. He departed this life July 28, 195 at Cheyenne Hospital at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 12 days. He came to Roger Mills County in 1898 and homesteaded near Hamburg. He spent the remainder of his life on the homestead except for the last eight years which has been spent at home in Cheyenne. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a neighbor of whom no one ever knew a fault. His mother and father passed away when he was only 12. He kept his five brothers together until they were able to have homes of their own. He is survived by his wife, Hattie of the home, four sons and two daughters, John, of Spearman, Texas; Bryan, of cheyenne; Tom, of Torrance, California; Warley, of Lena, Wisconsin; Mrs. Albert Maddux, of Cheyenne, and Mrs. Claud Douglas of Placentia, California; two brothers, Joe of Loveland, Colorado and George of Pinedale, California; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
