Nina was a descendant of pioneer homesteaders who were active in the development of the Grimes community. She married Claud E. Berry on June 22, 1940 in Sayre. They lived in Lone Wolf before purchasing the telephone company in Willow. In 1957, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and remained there until 1987 when they returned to Oklahoma. They moved to Rogers, Arkansas in 1994 to be near family. She was a member of Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Moore of Phoenix, Arizona, Nina L. Verkler and husband Tom of Rogers, Arkansas, Claudie M. Ferguson of Phoenix and Nancy J. Hamill and husbands of Soldotna, Arizona; one son, Larry J. Berry and wife Ann of Altamonte Springs, Florida; one sister, Maried Berry and husband D.A. of Oklahoma City; one sister-in-law, Ruth Olson of Grimes; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter and one brother. Services will be 2 p.m,. Tuesday, at the Rose Chapel officiated by Kevin Ballard. Interment will be in the Dempsey Cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
