He awoke at about three o'clock, arose and got a drink of water, then passed away shortly after returning to his bed, Mrs Barr was alone with him at the time. John Barr was born in Colorado in 1875 and passed away at his home in Cheyenne June 5, 1937, at the age of 62 years. He was married to Docia Seago March 27, 1914. They had resided in Cheyenne for the past eighteen years. He was constable of Cheyenne township at the time of his passing. John B. Barr was a man who firmly believed in law and order. He was always ready to volunteer his services to preserved the peace and to enforce obedience to the laws of the land. It can truthfully be said of him that he was a man who was faithful to his church, loyal to his country and fraternal to his fellow man. His influence was always found on the side of right and he will be missed from this community. He made the run into the Cheyenne and Arapaho country, and spent most of his life in this county. His passing will be mourned by the early pioneers who survive him. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Church of Christ with Elder Bannister of Elk City preaching the sermon, after which interment was made in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
