Berry, a pioneer resident of the section north of this city died at an early hour Monday morning, after an illness extending over a number of years. Funeral services were held at Berlin on Tuesday afternoon with interment at the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma and were very largely attended. Mrs. Berry settled on the farm five miles north of this city twenty years ago, and has seen this section grow from wild prairie to one of the most prosperous farming sections of Oklahoma, and during that time had acquired a wide acquaintance by whom she was very highly esteemed, and all of whom join with the Headlight in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives and aged husband. Sayre Headlight, Sayre, OK 4-May-1922 ========= Mrs. H.H. Berry, whose death notice appeared in last week's paper, was Malissa Price and was born in Hawkins county, Tennessee, August 14, 1855, and died May 1, 1922, age 67 years, 8 months and 17 days. She was married to Henderson Berry on November 18, 1875. Five children were born of this union, three boys having died in infancy; two daughters are living, Mrs. T.M. Hartman, of Burchard, Nebraska, and Mrs. John Hartman, living here, who was constantly at the bedside of her mother during her last illness. Mrs. Berry has been afflicted for the past fifteen years and was confined to her bed , but bore it all patiently. She was a faithful member of the Old German Baptist Church for forty years. Having lived here for twenty years, she was well known, loved and respected by all. Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock May 2, 1922 and were conducted by Rev. S.R. Wells and S.C. Ganer. Text from the 13th verse of 14th chapter of Revelations. The remains were folowed by a large crowd of friends to the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, where the interment took place. The deepest sympathy of the entire community is extended to the husband and children in their sad hour of affliction. (Note obituary was copied as was printed in newspaper.)
