In 1899 he was married to Ida Lewrick, who preceded him in death June 5, 1932. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. One daughter, Mrss. Nelle Brown, preceded him in death. He came to Roger Mills County in 1910, located near Sweetwater, Oklahoma, where he lived until his passing. He had been in failing health for six years. In 1934 he united in marriage with Onita Forrest. She and one son were at his bed side when he passed away. One sister Mrs. Monnie Beecher of Crofton, Nebraska and one brother, Earnest Bartz of Sweetwater, Oklahoma preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing; the wife of the home address, Freeland Bartz and Vern Velma Tramp of Crofton, Nebraska. Two step-children, Della May Fitzgerald of Reydon, Oklahoma, and Le Roy Laney of Los Angeles, California, three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Sinerum, of Waukomis, Oklahoma, Mrs. Emmsa Lord of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Anna Harrison of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Charles W. Bartz of Crofton, Nebraska and Otto Bartz of Fulton, Mo., twenty-one grandhildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
