Ave A. were pending today with Savage funeral home handling arrangements. Born March 18, 1881, in Johnsville, Arkansas, Mrs. Barfield died in a local hospital Friday, October 11, 1957 after a lengthy illness. Married to D.G. Barfield in Vick, Arkansas, December 5, 1900, Mrs. Barfield moved to western Oklahoma in December 1917 and had lived in Elk City the past five years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, D.G. Barfield, home address; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Giddens, Houston, Arkansas; Mrs. Mable Jencks, Elk City; Mrs. Ruby Weeks, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Ruth McQuerry, Flat Rock, Mich., and Algra Tackett, Shady Point, Okla., four sons, Guy, Modesto, Calif.; Marvin, Houston, Texas; F.B., Massena, N.Y., and Cecil, Oklahoma City. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Nannie McKenzie, Clarendon, Ark.; Mrs. Lorene Smith, Ingalls, Ark.; Mrs. Belle Chandler, Fordyce, Ark., and Mrs. Bessie Chandler, Bellflower, Calif.; two brothers, Samuel Clinton, and Jessie Clinton, both of Vick, Ark. Two daughters, Sue and Lois, preceded her in death. Time and place of services will be announced by Savage funeral home. Rev. Lewis Hancock will officiate and burial will be in Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
