She moved with her parents as a child to Day County and attended Pie Flat School. She married Claude Charles Barber on November 27, 1919 in Cheyenne. They lived in the Pie Flat Community where they made their home. She was a member of the Nazarene Church from a very young age. Her grandmother Thomas was an early day Nazarene preacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters, Opal Boyd and Wanda Hardin, 1 sister Thelma Calhoun and 2 brothers Joy Rowe and Ernest Rowe. Services will be 10:00 1.m., Saturday, September 4, 1993 at the Magnolia Baptist Church officiated by Blaine Barber, and assisted by A.L. Martin. Interment will be in the Pie Flat Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
