The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Brooks, Mayfield, Belter John Henry Brooks was born May 1, 1938 east of Roll to Georgie Bell and Walter Wyatt Brooks and died Saturday in the Deaconess Hospital at the age of 58. John grew up in Cheyenne and married DXelories Ann Mayfield on May 3, 1959 in Wheeler, Texas. They lived in Cheyenne before moving to sayre in 1961. They later moved to Elk City to make their home. John worked for the City of Elk City in the Street Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include: his fcie Delories Ann, one daughter/son-in-law, Tammy and Gary Belter of Clinton; one son/daughter-in-law, Johnny and Suzanne Brooks of Elk City; two grandsons, Nathan and Evan Brooks of Elk City; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held today at 130 p.m. at the Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Phil Rhynerson. Interment followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
