In the year of 1895 he was united in marriage with Nancy L. Anderson at Caddo Gap, Arkansas. To this union were born three children; two sons, Freeman and Willie, both of whom died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Ray Hodges of Los Angeles, California. On July 27, 1902, Nancy Bowers died, and on December 24, 1905, he was married to Josie Anderson of Montgomery County, Arkansas. To this union there were born two daughters, Alma and Tommy. Alma preceded him in death on October 18, 1927 at the age of 21 years. Mr. Bowers was united with the Methodist church at the age of 19 and remained a member of this church until his passing. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, Mrs. Josie Bowers, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Hodges of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Frank Vincent of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one grandson, G.H. Hodges of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons-in-law, Ray Hodges of Los Angeles, Calif., and Frank Vincent of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; two brothers, Tom, of Sayre, Oklahoma and Walter of Paris, Texas; a step-mother, three half-brothers, Earl Bowers of Lamesa, Texas, Frank Bowers of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Ralph Bowers of Bassfield, Miss.; a step brother, Monroe Goforth of Lamesaa, Texas and a host of other relative and friends.
