She moved with her father, two sisters and one brother to Roger Mills County where they purchased a farm near Durham. Here she met and married Earl Briggs on July 9, 1908. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne for a number of years. Preceding Mrs. Briggs in death were her husband, her parents, 3 sons: Noel, Thomas and Darius, 3 grandsons, 1 great grandson, 2 sisters and 1 bothers. Survivors include 5 daughgters: Zenobia Riley of Dumas, Texas; Juanita Walker of Corpus Christi, Texas; Wenona Moore of Cheyenne, OK; Nadine David of Amarillo, TX and Joan Decker of Woodland, CA; 4 sons: Cyril of Merced, CA; Rober of Cheyenne, OK; Loel of San Antonio, TX; Sherman of Las Cruses, NM; 45 grandchildren; 74 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 12, 1985 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Jimmy Wilkerson and Aubrey Cowan officiating. Interment followed in the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, OK with Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.
