Thomas spent his early years in Roger Mills County and attended school at Cheyenne, Strong City and Hammon. He was an over the road trucker all of his adult life, working for Kodiak Trucking at the time of his death. In all the miles he had driven, he had only one serious accidnet. In January 1959, he married Jane Wallace. He later married Sandra Kirk and they moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1980. He had been a member of the Teamsters Local 959 since 1979. He became a mber of the Strong City Baptist Church at 12 years of age. He was preceded in death by his father in 1952, his grandparents, Earl and Eva Briggs, and W.J. and Idell Riley. Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of the home; 2 sons, Gary Wayne of Anchorage, Alaska; Steve and wife, Karen, of Waco, Texas; 1 step-daughter, Christine; 1 step-son, Troy, both of Anchorage, Alaska; his mother and step- father, Lois and Vint Thomas, of Cheyenne; 2 sisters, Patricia Collins, of Durham; Roxie Hensley, of Elk City; 2 brothers, Jessie, of Hobbs, New Mexico; Ronald, of Ulysses, Kansas; 2 step-sister, Lola Harris, of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Peggy King, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 1 step-brother, Joe Thomas, of Melvin, Illinois, and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted, Sunday, March 9, 1986, at 4:00 p.m. in Kehl's Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Anchorage, Alaska. Local services were conducted Tuesday, March 11, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Aubrey Cowan and A.L. Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Strong City Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Serving as pallbearers were Leon Malson, Donnie O'Hari, W.T.
