Josie Bowers was born in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, September 11, 1886 and departed this life June 7, 1970, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She was married to Henry B. Bowers in her hometown on December 24, 1905. She joned the Methodist Church at an early age. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter Alma. During the last thirty-two years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Vincent and family in Chayenne, Oklahoma. Josie Bowers was truly an Oklahoma pioneer. She was gentle, kind and loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Alice Lasswell of Norwalk, California, and Tommy Vincent of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, G. H. Hodges of Norwalk, California, and Donna Sue Vincent, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three great grand grandchildren, Kelley and Korey Forchione and Mike Hoges, all of Norwalk, Californi; two sons-in-law, Frank Vincent of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Terry Lasswell of Norwalk, California; one brother, Allen Anderson of Hot Springs, Arkansas and a host of other relatives and friends. Burial in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
