Burgess, 45, was born June 29, 1926 and passed away last Firday, January 21, 1972 in Reno, Nevada hospital where he had surgery. His parents were former Hammon community residents as their children grew up. His funeral was in the Butler Baptist Church on Monday, January 24, 1972 and burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. His mother lives in Butler. The Burgess children were all here for their brother Tom's funeral Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Carol Burgess of Flint, Michigan, Mrs. Burnice Gregg and husband Kinston, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Lucille) Madkie of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Alice Claton, husband, Arapaho, (Eula) Preston Bailey, Pampa, Texas, Mrs. Ruth Ann Collins, Butler, John Burgess of Clinton, Tom's wife came from Reno with the body on the palne.
