The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Billy H., son of William H. and Alberta Reynolds Beierschmitt was born in Roger Mills County at Dempsey, Oklahoma on April 1, 1926. He passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on the 27th of May, 1994 at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 26 days. He attended the Reydon School System and graduated from the high school with the lcass of 1944. On April 9, 1944, at Reydon, Oklahoma, he was married to Jerrye Irene Parman. To their marriage five children, Billy Ray, Linda Kay, Gary Lee, Bobby Joe and Jimmy Don were born. Following their marriage they lived on a farm near Reydon until he joined the U.S. Army in November of 1944 serving in the Pacific Theater of the war as a military policeman in Manila, Phillipines and was discharged in September of 1946. They farmed in the Elk City ares and in 1950 returned to Reydon where they operated a confectionery. In February of 1953 he attended the Oklahoma Highway Patrol School Class #13 and started working at Cushing on April 15. In August of 1955 they came to Alva and he retired in 1974, when he was elected Woods County Sheriff and retired in October of 1990. Bill was a member of the Alva First United Methodist Church, the Oklahoma State Sheriff and Peace Officers, Governor Bellman's Drug Task Force, the Oklahoma Retired Troopers Association, and the Alva Blackwint post of the V.F.W. Mrs. Beierschmitt was preceded in death by his son, Gary Lee on December 5, 1978 and his parents. Bill is survived by his wife, Irene of the home; a daughter Linda and her husband, Grant Sechler; three sons and their wives, Billy Ray and Vicki of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Bobby Joe and fiance Peggy Townsend of Borger, Texas and Jimmy Don and Lynell of Woodward, Oklahoma. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Darrin M. and Danette Jacobs of Wellington and theirf children, Hunter, Bailey and Brock; Bradley and Nicole Jacobs, Spence, Kelly and Mick Sechler, Marci Lea and Jamie Rei Beierschmith, Garrick Lee and Lance William Beireschmitt, an aunt, Margilu Reynolds of Reydon, Oklahoma; and uncle, Marion Reynolds of Lamar, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Casket bearers were: Billy Ray Beierschmitt, Bob by Joe Beierschmitt, Jimmy Don Beierschmitt, Grant K. Sechler, Bardley D. Jacobs, and Darrin M. Jacobs.
