The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== Surnames: Baker, Thomason, Baird, Clay, Scoggins Bessie Thomason Barker was born November 29, 1904, in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, to R.W. and Sarah Thomason, and departed this life July 13, 1957, at the Good Samartian hospital, Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 52 years, 7 months and 14 days. She was united with the Baptist Church at an early age and lived a devoted Christian life. Her many acts of kindness to her many friends displayed a sincere Christian spirit at all times. She was an active member of the Reydon Order of the Eastern Star living the lessons, daily, taught by the beautiful order. During her long illness she continued to have a cheerful disposition with a smile for everyone, always her thoughts were for the concern of her loved ones and friends rather than her constant pain. She was united in marriage to Fred Barker of Reydon, May 20, 1933, at Sayre, and they lived in the Reydon community most of their married life. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, one brother and one sister. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Fred of Phoenix, Arizona, one daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arley Baird of Gypsum, Kansas; six grandchildren, David, Betty, Freddie, Martha and Edward of Gypsum, Kansas and Ruby of Lampac, California; one brother, Richard of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Olo Clay of Muskogee and Mrs. Jennie Scoggins of Kenefic, Oklahoma, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeraal services were held on Thursday afternoon, July 18, 1957 in the community building with Rev. Lynn Heard assisted by Rev. H. Woodard, officiating. Interment was in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
