The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK Bryan Virgil Brady was born July 29, 1906 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma and passed away April 20, 1989 in the Hensley Nursing Home at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 22 days. Brady, the son of John W. and Hettie Brady, graduated from Erick High School in 1925, before Sweetwater haad a high school. He held a Master of Science degree from Oklahoma A&M and he had been granted a doctorate in human nutrition from the College of Life Sciences in Austin, Texas. After his graduation from A&M, he married Ester Webb in Stillwater and they had five children. Brady was a lifelong advocate of soil and water conservation and in the 1930's he helped organize the first soil conservation district in the United States, in eastern Oklahoma. While teachin Vo-Ag. Brady surveyed terrace lines free of charge for area farmers hwerever he taught, to encourage and awareness of Conservation. Brady taught in Heavener, Warner, El Reno, Weatherford, and Sweetwater in Oklahoma. He taught Vo-Ag in Allison and Briscoe, Texas and taught biology his last 15 years in Muleshoe, Texas. Brady was a member of the Church of Christ in Erick and had served as an elder and deacon. He was a 50 year member of the Lions Club and had been president of several chapters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Edgar. He is survived by: 4 daughters, Albryn Webser of Lenexia, Kansas, D'Jicia Hamm of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Berylene Williams of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Clarenell Akin of Vancover, WA; 1 son, Byran V. Brady II of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Hortense Madden of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was Sunday, april 23, 1989 at 2;30 p.m. at the Erick Church of Christ with Cecil Burch officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
