Bartz 57-Year-old farmer living in the Grimes community died Sunday morning May 9, 1937 at a Shattuck hospital following a prolonged illness, according to word received here. Funeral arrangements had not been learned today. He was born October 26, 1879, at Crofton, Nebraska, and had lived on a farm four miles west and one half miles north of Grimes since 1910. He is survived by his widow and six children: Children are Harvey Bartz, Grimes; Lester Bartz, Sayre; Floyd Bartz, Sweetwater; Florence Bartz, Sweetwater; Mrs. Clara Clawson, Los Angeles, California and Orville Bartz, Bakersfield, California. A stepson, Clarence Williams, also survives. Sayre Headlight, Sayre, OK 11-May-1937 Last rites for E.C. Bartz, long time resident of the Grimes community who succumbed Sunday morning May 9, 1937 in a Shattuck hospital following a prolonged illness, were held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Sunny Point church, Rev. J.W. Trevette, pastor of the First Methodist church here, officiated. Mr. Bartz include: his widow, and six children, Harvey Bartz, Grimes, Lester Bartz, Sayre; Floyd Bartz, Sweetwater; Florence Bartz, Sweetwater; Mrs. Clara Clawson, Los Angeles; and Orville Bartz, Bakersfield, California; and one step-son, Clarence Williams. Interment was made at the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Littrell-Johnson Funeral home in charge.
