Brittain, 82, of Cheyenne died Thursday at the Sayre Memorial Hospital following an extended illeness. Memorial services were Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Rev. Juanice Parkhurst and Rev. Aubrey Cowan officiating. Burial was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Born Nov. 20, 1895 in Arkansas, he was married Oct. 13, 1917 to Minnie Mae Headrick at Sayre. They made their home near Grimes before moving to Reydon in 1930. They moved to Cheyenne in 1957. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War I. Survivors are 1 daughter, Mrs. Boyd (Emma Jean) Montgomery, Long Beach, CA, 1 sons, L.W. Brittain of Elk City, and Sam Brittain of Houston, TX; 16 grandchildren; 1 brother, Bob Brittain of Elk City. American Legion members served as pallbearers.
