She departed this life March 11, 1992 at her residence in Oklahoma City following a lengthy illness, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 9 days. After graduation from local schools she attended Southwestern College and received a B.A. degree from Central State at Edmond. She taught two years at Carpenter and four years at Hammon, Oklahoma and one year in Montana before marriage to Will R. Brothers in 1942. To this union were born three children: a duaghter, Wilma Rae Miles and two sons, Michael Ford Brothers and Timothy Robert Brothers. May Zelle returned to teaching after moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1957. She received a M.A. degree from Wichita University. She taught in Wichita Elementary Schools until her retirement in 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will R. Brothers in 1985. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Oscar and Dennis and sisters: Laone, Georgia and Lena. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Willma Miles of Alpharett, Georgia, and sons, Micahel Ford Brothers of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Timothy R. Brrothers of Wichita, Kansas, two grandchildren: Lynn Ann Miles of Alpharetta, Georgia and Bill Robert Brothers of Norman, Oklahoma, a sister, Leila Evett of Oklahoma City and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services at the Kiowa Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma are planned to be held April 10, 1992 with nephew Rev.
