The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Obit for Ona Vale Brown Ona Vale Brown was born January 23, 1913 in Gould, Oklahoma and passed away January 16, 1990 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 24 days. Ona Vale, the daughter of Otto R. and Ava Ann Kuow, lived in Okmulgee during her earl years and then moved back to Gould with her mother where she attended school. On February 6, 1929 she married J.F. Brown in Sayre, Oklahoma, and they have made Sayre their home since that time. She and J.F. Brown owned and operated the J.F. Brown and Son Grocery Store for 50 years until their retirement in 1979. She had been a member of the Sayre Fist Christian Church for a number of years and was a Homemaker, and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ava Ann Ragsdill and step-fahter, Jim Ragsdill; 1 daughtger, Virginia Anne Drake; 1 son, Charles, 2 brothers and 1 great grandson. She is survived by her husband, J.F. "Brownie" of the home; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Brown of Sayre, Bill and Brenda Brown also of Sayre; 1 brother, JamesRagsdcill of Arlington, Texas, 9 grandchildren, Cathy, Julie, Kenny, Jim Paul, Lesia Michael, Andrea, Steve and Sherri; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were Friday January 19, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sayre First Christian Church with Andy Taylor and Michael Dyer officiating. Burial was in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
