Memorial Services were Sunday June 26, 1977 at 2:30 p.m. in Wheeler Stright Chapel at Portales, New Mexico. Burial was in Portales Cemetery. Born near Berlin December 2, 1930, he had been residing in Portaleds, New Mexico since December of 1976. He was a veteran graduate of Sayre High School and Sayre Jr. College. He had a B.S. Degree from Southwestn State of Weatherford and a M.A. Degree from Fort Hays State University, Fort Hays, Kansas. He taught school in Cimmaron, Kansas, was Jr. High Principle at Ulysses three years and Superintendent of Sataant, Kansas 7 years. He was elected to appear in the outstanding personalities of the west and midwest. Survivors are; his wife, Deloris of the Home; 1 daughter, Donna p. Bussell of Pampa, Texas; 1 son, Jim Brown, Centraila, Washington; 3 step children, Chris Nuckles of the home, Cindy Ellis and Debbie Carson of Ulysses, Kansas, 2 grandchildren; his father and step mother Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Brown, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. John Wooley of Portales, New Mexico; 1 step sister, Sharon Rook of Moore, Oklahoma; 1 step brother, Luther Barkley of Minco, Oklahoma; his grandmother, Ida Brown; aunts, uncles and cousins.
