Brown Gerald L. Brown was born December 18, 1937 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Velma Barton and Jim A. Brown and passed away April 21, 1955 in the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 3 days. Gerald graduated from Durham High School in 1957 and attended college at Panhandle A&M and Southwestern State College. He ranched with his parents in Roger Mills County. He married Jessie Lee Hartley on May 10, 1969 in Reydon, Oklahoma. They lived in the Durham community before moving southeast of Arnett in 1975 to make their home. He was a member of Durham Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his maternal, paternal and his father-in-law, Jess Hartley. He is survived by his wife, Jessie L. of the home; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bill Follett, Austin, Texas and Darol Marie and Jody Robertson of Crawford, Oklahoma; 3 sons, Thomas Lee Alsup, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Gerald Lynn Brown of the home; his parents, Jim and Velma Brown, Clinton, Oklahoma; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Stoney Lacey, Clinton, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Logan Robertson, Felisha Leeann Alsup, Brittany Davenport; his mother-in-law, Mary Hartley and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday April 23, 1995 at the Durham community building officiated by A.L. Martin. Interment was in the Brown Family Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
