Morton Brown, 1101 North Seventh Street, died September 15, 1970 at the Sayre Hospital following a short illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at the First Christian church at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Marion Nilsson officiating. Born January 11, 1887 in Texas, Mrs. Brown was married April 1, 1905 to William Wesley Morton, who preceded her in death. She was married July 20, 1959 to George Montie Brown. She moved to Sayre in 1943 from Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lillie Parks, Konawa, Mrs. Odecca Cole, Cheyenne, Mrs. Betty Dean, Sayre; six sons, Dee of Cheyenne, Elmo of Amarillo, Texas; Harry of Whittier, California, James of Cypress, California; Wesley of Sayre; one sister, Fannie Gray, Colorado Springs, Colorado; three brothers, Wesley Morris, Post, Texas; John of Lamont, California; Walter Morris; 30 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. Interment was in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckahm County, Oklahoma with Rose Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
