Interment followed at the Trail Cemetery near Leedey, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home off Elk City. Florence Elizabeth Schliesser Ferguson Brown departed this life on May 31, 2005 after a brief illness. As the youngest of three daughters, Florence was born on November 28, 1930(?) in Jackson County, Texas to William and Frieda Schliesser. She attended school in the Canadian area and was married to Carl Ferguson on January 3, 1930. Three children Carl Edwin Ferguson, Betty Florence Fergsuon Stout, and Calvin Eugene Ferguson were born to Carl and Florenceee Ferguson, Florence and Carl enjoyed 37 years of marriage until Carl's death in 1967. On June 16, 1972, Florence married Roy E. Brown and they had been married 23 years at the time of Roy's death in 1994. During Florence's long life, she worked as a homemaker, waitress, and was a long time representative of traveler's Motor Club. Florence enjoyed being around people, playing bingo, was a devotedd member and volunteer for the Elk City Chapter of the VFW Auxiliary and attended the First Christian Church in Elk City. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, husbands, Carl and Roy, her sons, Calvin Eugene Ferguson and Lt. J.G. Carl Edwin Ferguson and her grandson, Carl Edward Ferguson. Florence is survived ny her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ben Stout of Leedey, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law, Hannah Ferguson of Gulfport, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Todd A. Ferguson and Lu Ann Stout; two great grandchildren Brandon and Jennifer Ferguson and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family request that memortials, be made in Florencfe's honor to the Leedey Nursing Home.
