Burns was born February 13, 1903 in Steling, Oklahoma. he departed this life at 1:45 p.m. February 7, 1949. His mother died when he was fourteen years old; his father paassed away a few years ago. In 1927 he came to Cheyenne with a cousin. On November 17, 1929 he was married to Miss Jewel Viola parker of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. To this union was born a boy, Troy Lee, who died in infancy. On March 28, 1948 he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne, Okla. he was also a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge, Cheyenne Lodge No. 133. He was a carpenter by trade whic he enjoyed and excelled in. He was busy until a few minutes before his death in his trade. His survivors are: Wife, Mrs. Jewel Burns, Cheyenne. Sisters: Mrs. Esther Perry, Coalgate, Okla.; Mrs. Connie Mount, Alpaugh, Calif.; Mrs. Pearl Pebworth, Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. Tiny Glasy, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Artie Lee Alyea, Trenton, Mich. Brothers: Mr. Charles Burns, Burton, Kans.; Mr. Carl Burns, Santa Barbara, Calif. Uncles: Mr. J.W. Burns, Reydon, Okla.; Mr. Dan T. Burns, Oklahoma City; Mr. John Burns, Las Animas, Colo.
