Barnes, 85 year old pioneer resident of the Berlin community, who was fatally wounded last Sunday afternoon when the Model T. Ford in which he and Mrs. Barnes were riding, collided with a Buick sedan at the road intersection one mile west of Berlin. The Buick was driven by J.W. Robinson, advance man for the All American shows, which was enroute from Fargo to Elk City to show during the West Oklahoma Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes were taken to the Tisdal hospital at Sayre where Mr. Barnes died a few hours later. Mrs. Barnes is said recovering from her cuts and bruises. Two occupants of the Buick were slightly injured. They were released from the hospital Monday. Both automobiles were completely demolished. Those who saw the accidnt, say that the Buick turned over three or four times and the Ford turned over twice. J.B. Barnes had resided in the Berlin community for 35 years and had a host of friends who will truly mourn his demise. He was the father of ten daughters and two sons.
