Burns who has been a resident of Cheyenne thirty-six years passed away last Wednesday, September 23, 1937 after a lingering illness. He suffered a paralytic stroke about five years ago and has been in poor health since that time, and had been bedfast since last August. He was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Williams about forty-five years ago. To this union three children were born, a daughter, dieing in infancy and two sons, George W. Burns and John T. (Van) Burns both of this city. The wife of the deceased preceeded him in death in May 1927. he united with the Methodist Church in early manhood and was a consistent member until the time of his death. W.B. Burns came to Cheyenne in 1901 from Texas and had made his home in our midst since that time. He was a good citizen, a good father and a good neighbor. He leaves to mourn his passing his two sons, two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ed Shelly of Greensburg, Texas, and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church of this city after which interment was made in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Rev.
