All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Burns, Edger, Seago Funeral services for George William Burns, Cheyenne rancher who died Wednesday March 29, 1955 following a seven week's illness, were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist Church at Cheyenne with Rev. Wilkerson and Rev. L.C. Summers officiating. Mr. Burns was born August 26, 1896 in Lion, Texas and moved to Cheyenne in 1901 where he had since resided. He was married to Beulah Sue Edger in 1921. He was a World War I veteran, a member of the Odd Fellows lodge and the Methodist church. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. F.C. Seago of Tulsa, one son, Billy Burns of Cheyenne, one brother Van Burns also of Cheyenne and five grandchildren. Committal was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins funeral home in chage. Cheyenne Odd Fellows had charge of graveside services.
