She was born October 7, 1867, in Greenville, Arkansas, and was married to James S. Bagby in Rush Creek August 15, 1889. Her husband preceded her in death on October 8, 1938 in Bristow. Her maiden name was Martha Catherine Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Bagby came to Custer county in 1901 moving to Roger Mills County about 15 years ago. She had resided in Pauls Valley since August of 1947, and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. The time of the funeral is pending arrival of relatives, but will be held at the Assembly of God church in Elk City with Rev. John Dryden of Pauls Valley and Rev. Frank Postelle of this city, officiating. Interment will be made in Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bagby was preceded in death by three sons. She is survived by five daughters. Mrs. Maggie Gravitt of Sayre, Mrs. E.M. Fender of this city; Mrs. H.C. Morgan, Allenhurst, Calif.; Mrs. Maude Mallouf, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Mac Douglas, Pauls Valley, to sons, Elmer and Jim Bagby both of Elk City; one sister, Mrs. A.N. Hatfield, Hydro; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Letha Bagby of Sayre; three brothers, George Stevens of Butler, and Robert and Silas Stevens, both of Hammon; 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
