Funeral services were held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.,. at the First Baptist Church Wheeler, TX with Rev. Larry Mitchell and Rev. Rick Pastnell officiating. Burial followed in the Wheeler Cemetery, Wheeler, TX under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors, Wheeler, Texas. Marie was born on August 22, 1917 in Wheeler, TX to Bert Hillmand and Etta Risner Hillman. Marie worked for Perryton ISD for 12 years in the school cafeteria fron 1957-1969. She and her husband ran the Lake Fryer concession stand from 1969-1975. Marie was a homemakefr. Marie was married to Verbon Baker on December 06, 1937 in Elk City, OK. She was an active member of The First Baptist Curch Wheeler, TX. Marie was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Etta husband Verbon in 1994, 6 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grabddaughter. Marie is survived by 4 sons Bobby Baker and wife Kay of Pageland, SC.l, Larry Baker and wife Deanna of Pampa, TX.,, Dwayen Baker and wife Bobbie Sue of Elk City, OK., David Baker and Donna of Wheeler, TX., 1 daughter Phillis Oquin and Rick of Perryton, TX., 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. The family has requested in lieu of flowers and memorial be sent to Building Fund for the Baptist Church, P.O. Box 206, Wheeler, TX 79096.
