Baker, former resident of Sayre; passed away at his home five miles south of Cheyenne February 8, 1936 after a short illness. The deceased was born at Brownville, Nebraska on October 12, 1873. He moved with his parents at the age of 27 years to Oklahoma where he has lived for many years. He became a member of the Methodist Church at the age of 21 years. The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Simpson R. Baker, three sons, one daughter and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church and interment was in the Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Sayre Sunbeam, Sayre, OK 20-Feb-1936 Simpson R. Baker formerly of Sayre, after a short illness passed away at his home five miles south of Cheyenne on Saturday, February 8, 1936. He moved with his parents, at the age of 27 years to Oklahoma where he had lived many years. But he always met every new trial with a courage born of a true Christian, patience with a desire to do all the human energy could do to help make a home that would give comfort and pleasure to those around him. The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church at Reydon. He was laid to rest in the Reydon (White Rose) cemetery. He leaves a wife, three sons, one daughter, and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
