Graveside inurnment will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma. Dorothy was born October 17, 1926 in Gem City, Texas to Ruby (Hughes) and Thomas Bayless. Dorothy was a "Dust Bowl" and "Great Depression" survivor. She raised a family of six children while operating a dairy farm with her husband, James Beals. The family moved to Norman, Oklahoma in the mid 60's where she continued to raise her family, which at this point included grandchildren. Dorothy and James loved to travel with their motor home around Colorado. She enjoyed many hobbies and activities such as quilting, square dancing and watching rodeos. She was a great cook and her Blackberry Fried Pies were a favorite with the family. She also loved to garden, flowers and vegetables. Dorothy was always involved with her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by both friends and family alike. Dorothy was preceded in death by husbands, James Beals and L.L. Humphrey; parents, Thomas and Ruby Bayless; sister, Geneva Baxter; brother, Cecil Bayless; and son Larry Beals. Survivors include one son, Larry Beals and wife, Tracey of Noble, Oklahoma; four daughters, Jo Baden and husband Bill of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Nancy Atha and husband Floyd of Yukon, Oklahoma, Linda Bogges and husband Bob of Moore, Oklahoma and Lovina Keis and husband Danny of Maysville, Oklahoma; two sisters, JoAnne Bayless Martin of Elk City, Oklahoma and Glenna Mae Bayless Easterly of Flagstaff, Arizona; niece, Janell Baxter Gause of Alabama; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
