He was born June 1, 1921 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Elsie Oxford and Estell Blevins. Clarence graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1939 and started to work at the Consolidated Vultree Aircraft Corporation in San Diego, CA. Later he was drafted into the Army in August of 1944 and ended up in Beigium as a part of the 106th infantry participating in the Battle of the Bulge. After suffering from frostbite, he was in an U.S. Army Air Corps hospital near London. Clarence ended up being discharged from the 8th Air Force division of the Army Air Corps in October of 1946. Returning to Sweetwater, he married Betty Fern Myers at Sweetwater on November 10, 1946 and they had two sons, Steve and Mike. After retirement from farming on Blevins family land near Sweetwater, they moved to Sayre in 1983 to make their home. He was a member of the Sayre First Baptist Church, the Sayre Masonic Lodge #195 and served on the board of Sweetwater School and the North Fork of Red River Conservation District. Clarence was proceded in death by both his parents and one brother, Walter P. Blevins. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Fern, and his two sons, Steve Blevins and wife Mary and Mike Blevins and wife Jeannene, all of Sayre. Also three grandchildren, Jarrod Blevins and wife Cyndy, Chad Blevins and wife Tammie and Melissa Folsom and husband, Richard, and seven great-grandchildren including Ashlee, Austyn, Avery, Rachel, Ashton, Mason and Randon. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Earlene Blevins of Hot Springs Village, AR one niece Sue McColgin and husband Steling of Colorado Springs, CO and one nephew, Jerry Blevins and wife Vicki of Hot Springs Village, AR. Services were held Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Chapel officated by Gary Baird. Burial was held at Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre.
