Marie was born on July 21, 1930 in Roger Mills County near Leedey, Oklahoma to Ray Switzer and Katherine (Rose) Switzer. Marie attended grade school at Three Corners, Red Star and Union Center in Oklahoma and a brief time in California. She attended all fou years of high school at Liberty Center where she graduated in 1948. Marie attended College in Weatherford, Oklahoma and Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she graduated in May of 1967. Marie maried B.B. Moseley, Jr. on July 19, 1952. Together they had three sons, Bruce Lee, Kenneth Ray, and Donald Gene. B.B. passed away on January 15, 1967. Marie married W.R. "Bill" Bolton on June 6, 1980 in Lindsay, Oklahoma and inheried four more sons, Jeff, Scot, Steve and David Bolton. Marie was a resident of Lindsay, Oklahoma for fifty-five years having moved to Lindsay from Elk City in 1953. Marie taught elementary school for twenty-six years. She taught one year at Duham, Oklahoma, one year at Maysville, Oklahoma and twenty-four years at Lindsay Elementary School. She was named "Teacher of the Year" in 1978. Mrs. Bolton was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and was a very activre member of the Lindsay Community Historical Society. Marie volunteered as a docent at the Murray-Lindsay Mansion Museum where she enlisted her husband Bill for upkeep and repairs. Together they helped in he restoration of the Pike Peak School. As chairwoman of the annual ornamental bulb project, Marie dedicated much time and effort in selections, production and salesa of he unique collection. Marie always appreciated the importance of history preservation and the educational values of sharing it with others. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindsay, Oklahoma where she worked in Cradle Roll, taught nursery, Junor High Girls and Beginners Sunday school classes. Marie also went to Falls Creek sevreral times as a sponsor, cook or both, and was a great blessing to many young people in the church through the years. Marie greatly enjoyed her eight grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits when she would cook them their favorite foods. Marie was special person who was "Mom" to many, a teacher to more and a friend to all. Her memory will be a lasting treaurer in the hearts of all who knew her. Mrs. Bolton is survived by her husband William R. "Bill" Bolton of Lindsay, Oklahoma, six sons, Bruce Moseley and wife Liz of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Kenneth Moseley and wife Gaila of OKC, Don Moseley and wife Kim of Franklin, TN, Jeff Bolton of El Reno, Steve Bolton and wife Paula of OKC, and David Bolton and wife Jonna of OKC. Marie also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Lynnsey Moseley of Lindsay, Ashley Moseley of OKC, Matthew and Katie Moseley of Franklin, TN, Alyssa and Alex Bolton of OKC and Madison and Dawson Bolton of OKC. Mrs. Bolton was preceded in death by her parents, husband B.B. Moseley, Jr., one brother who died in infancy and one son Scott Bolton. She wasz also preceded in death by her four grandparents, R.E. and Rose Switzer and John R. and Mollie Rose. Funeral services were held Monday, January 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Lindsay with Brother Randy Allen officiating. Interment followed at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay. The family suggests the memorial contributions be made to the Oklahoma City Medical Researcfh Foundation or the Baptist Children's Home.
